Note From the Director

Dear friends of WOW,

WOW is truly grateful for your commitment to grow our efforts to empower women around the globe. From speaking up against gender inequality and gender based violence, to addressing beauty stereotypes, WOW has been a forerunner and has stood the test of time. We are unwavering in our fight for Justice, Equality and Change for women in all walks of life. Our task is incomplete till we see women break free from the norms and false beliefs that limit their growth as individuals, curtail their rights as people and bind them to structures that cripple their God-given dignity, identity and self-worth.

Our campaigns, Girl Arise and Dark is Beautiful, continue to challenge stereotypes of beauty and gender bias. We are constantly looking for avenues to bring about a change in existing attitudes that define today’s women and girl children. Our programs address the need for women’s safety at home, at school, at work and in public spaces.

Our training programs in schools, universities and offices include topics as varied as media literacy, self-esteem, personality development, body image, legal literacy, gender equality and more. Every year, WOW reaches out to thousands of young girls and women from all walks of life through our advocacy events, social media campaigns, training workshops, counselling, relief, recovery and rehabilitation programs.

I sincerely invite you to partner with us in making a difference to hundreds of women we are in touch with every day. We believe that it is better to light a candle than curse the darkness.

Stand with us. Lead the change!
