Malar : A New Lease On Life

Beset with financial  problems and the prevailing discriminatory practises in her community which puts girls in a disadvantaged position,  Malar aged 12 was pulled out of school and married off to a man much older than her . She soon became pregnant, and her husband , who struggled to hold onto to a job, ended his life not knowing how to provide for them . Left alone to care and provide for their newborn child,  Malar is destitute. Women of Worth stepped into her community and helped provide Malar an opportunity to learn a skill and also attend the life skills training programme conducted in her community. There are many girls like Malar in this community. Support WOW to ensure girls do not drop out of school, are safe in their communities, understand their rights and responsibilities and pursue their dreams.

Child Marriage is a reality in India, Every child matters, one small yet significant act can open up innumerable possibilities! Child Labour is NEVER ok!
